The 21st Young Scholars' Conference on Philippine Studies in Japan

 

We are pleased to inform you that The 21st Young Scholars' Conference on Philippine Studies in Japan will be held in the Korimoto campus of Kagoshima University on June 25 and 26, 2016. The conference will be open to academics, students and practitioners who are interested in issues associated with the Philippines. Young scholars and practitioners are particularly encouraged to present their papers. If you would like to join the conference, please submit the form below to the organizing committee by e-mail. June 25 (Sa): 10:00-17:00(provisional)

June 26 (Su):  9:00-17:00(provisional)

    (Reception: Jun 25  17:30-19:30)

Categories of presentation:

Individual presentation (for academics/practitioners) (30 minutes including time for questions)

Panel presentation (90 minutes to 120 minutes per panel depending on the number of presenters)

 (The time allocated for presenters and panels is provisional and subject to change depending on the final number of abstracts submitted)

 

Submission of abstracts of papers and proposals for panels (100 words maximum):

Please submit the form below on or before May 21st.

 

Languages for presentations:

Japanese, English, Filipino (however, translation will not be provided)

 

Registration:

For non-presenters, please submit the form below on or before June 18th.

 

Registration Fee:

  Full-time                               3,000 yen

  Graduate students/Part-time             2,000 yen

  Undergraduate students/Foreign students 1,000yen

 

Reception:

  Full-time                               3,000 yen

  Graduate students/Part-time             2,000 yen

  Undergraduate students/Foreign students 1,000yen

 

Submission for extended abstracts of papers for the conference proceedings:

Presenters are required to submit extended abstracts of presentations (3 pages of A4 size maximum) to the organizing committee by e-mail on or before the date of the presentation.

 

Order for conference proceedings:

For non-participants who want to purchase the Forum proceedings (1,000 yen), please contact the organizing committee. One copy of the conference proceedings volume will be provided free for all paid registrants.

 

Note: Those who live outside Japan may apply to attend the conference, but please be informed that the organizing committee does not provide any assistance for visa applications, if required.
